It won't burn or scald, and it can even cut vegetables... Recently, the admission letter of Beijing University of Chemical Technology has become popular. Many students evaluated the admission letter by demonstrating how to cut watermelon and meat, which attracted attention online. Many netizens exclaimed: "This degree is really 'hard'!"

The reporter learned that this year's college entrance examination admission letter of Beijing University of Chemical Technology is made of a new type of carbon fiber composite material independently developed by the Advanced Composite Materials Research Center (ACC Team) of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of the university. Carbon fiber is also known as the "black gold" of industry and is praised as "thin as a hair, light as a feather, strong as steel, and precious as gold". It has the characteristics of light weight, high specific strength, high specific stiffness, high temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance. This admission letter "woven" with carbon fiber is only 0.2mm thick and can change color when changing the angle in the sun.
According to the school, before the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the research team of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, together with the institutes under the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology and other units, successfully developed the first domestically produced carbon fiber bobsleigh, achieving a breakthrough in domestic carbon fiber bobsleigh technology. In the subsequent Beijing Winter Paralympic Wheelchair Curling Competition, the carbon fiber curling putters used by Chinese athletes were also independently developed and designed by Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
The school's scientific research team continued to carry out research and development, applying previously achieved breakthroughs in domestic aerospace-grade carbon fiber special composite materials and high-quality autoclave integral molding technology, breaking through the internal stress release and flatness control technology of carbon fiber composite materials, surface UV printing technology, hot stamping process technology, and color printing technology of building patterns, and finally realized the mass production of "Carbon Fiber Admission Notices".

Yang Xiaoping, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Organic and Inorganic Composite Materials and professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, said: "The carbon fiber admission letter not only demonstrates the school's outstanding strength in the field of carbon fiber composite materials, but also represents the successful transformation of domestic carbon fiber composite materials from 'high-end' products to 'common people' products. It is a vivid practice of the transformation of scientific research results of the school. I hope that every student admitted to Beijing University of Chemical Technology can bear in mind the 'great cause of the country', bravely shoulder the important task of national rejuvenation, and use practical actions to promote high-level scientific and technological self-reliance!"
As the fancy evaluation of admission letters becomes popular, Beijing University of Chemical Technology has also issued a warm reminder. The school emphasizes that placing the admission letter on a fire source or improperly heating it will cause great safety hazards. It is hoped that students will not make dangerous attempts out of curiosity or traffic, cherish the admission letter, and stop "playing with fire"!
