Fuzhou, August 9 (Xinhua) -- The "Anqi 6" ship, carrying 30 passengers, slowly sailed out of the Langqi Wharf in Mawei, Fuzhou, and headed for Fu'ao, Matsu, on the morning of the 9th. Among them were 7 mainland tourists traveling to Matsu. This was the first tourist group to Matsu since the resumption of the "Mini Three Links" passenger route between Fuzhou and Matsu.

Since the resumption of flights from Langqi, Mawei to Matsu on January 8, 2023 and from Huangqi, Lianjiang to Matsu on February 19, 2023, passenger traffic on the Fuzhou-Mazu "Mini Three Links" passenger routes has been on the rise. Starting from April 1 this year, the number of flights on the Fuzhou-Mazu "Mini Three Links" passenger routes has increased from four flights per day, two inbound and two outbound, to eight flights per day, four inbound and four outbound.

Since the beginning of this year, as of August 9, the Fuzhou Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station has cleared a total of 1,236 passenger ships, a year-on-year increase of 99%, and inspected more than 43,000 inbound and outbound passengers, a year-on-year increase of 123%.

"This is my first time to visit Matsu!" said Ms. Wang, a member of the tour group, to Lin Li, a border inspection police officer, when she was passing through customs. "It only takes 80 minutes to get to Matsu by boat from here. It's very convenient. I'm looking forward to this trip!"

It is reported that the "mini three links" passenger route between Fuzhou and Matsu had guaranteed the "Ten Thousand People Touring Matsu" tourism activity in 2019, attracting many mainland tourists to travel to Matsu via this sea route and extending to the main island of Taiwan for tourism, further narrowing the distance between Fuzhou and Matsu.

Lin Pei, deputy captain of the third duty team of the Fuzhou Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, said that the Fuzhou-Malaysia "Mini Three Links" passenger route has become a "golden channel" for cross-strait personnel exchanges due to its advantages of short flight distance, excellent service and high cost performance. The passengers traveling back and forth are mainly visiting relatives and friends. She said that with the increase in the number of tourists, the passenger flow of the Fuzhou-Malaysia "Mini Three Links" route will gradually increase. (End)
