After the school sports meet, coach Tang Shuguang of Guiyang County Amateur Sports School contacted Huang and asked her if she had any recommendations for weightlifting talent. Huang Yanhua immediately thought of Luo Shifang. "Luo Shifang has solid muscles, a well-proportioned figure, and strong explosive power, which is very consistent with the requirements of the sports school." In addition to her physical advantages, Luo Shifang is also a girl who is good at observation and cares about others.

Huang Yanhua remembers that during a physical education class, she had shoulder pain, so she asked the students to do warm-up exercises while she sat under the flagpole to rest for a while. At first, Luo Zanjun had some concerns. He was worried that Fangfang was too young and weightlifting might affect her normal growth. Luo Zanjun recalled,Luo Shifang had a boyish personality when she was young.Whenever her younger brother was bullied, she would stand up to help and became a child that her peers could not afford to mess with.

Luo Shifang was born in April 2001. She is the second child in the family and has an older brother and a younger brother. When she was a child, Luo Shifang was relatively strong, while her younger brother was more delicate. At that time, there was a little boy of the same age as Luo Shifang in the neighbor's house who liked to bully Luo Shifang's younger brother. Once, after the younger brother was beaten, he told Luo Shifang about the situation. Luo Shifang found the boy, chased him all the way home and hid. Luo Shifang did not leave the boy's house until he promised not to bully his younger brother anymore.

Grandma also told a story about Luo Shifang's childhood. Once, Luo Shifang was playing at her uncle's house, and a photographer came from the village. Grandma organized a few children to take photos. Seeing that her granddaughter was barefoot, she suggested that Luo Shifang go home to put on shoes first, and then take photos together. "She ran home in a flash, and came back in less than 10 seconds." When everyone was puzzled, Luo Shifang rushed to the side of her two younger brothers who were preparing to take a group photo, and "clicked", leaving a barefoot photo. Later, Luo Shifang explained that if the photographer left when I went home to put on shoes, then I couldn't take photos, right?

This "famous scene" later became an interesting story that the family often talked about.

Luo Shifang's father, Luo Zanjun, has been a tobacco farmer for many years. Relying on the income from tobacco leaves, he trained Luo Shifang, a world champion.

Villagers in the Chongling River area either work outside or grow tobacco at home. When Luo Zanjun was young, he also went to Guangdong. In 2003, two years after Luo Shifang was born, Luo Zanjun decided to return home to grow tobacco.

Luo Zanjun currently has 50 mu of tobacco fields, and after deducting costs, he can still earn more than 100,000 yuan a year. Planting tobacco leaves is a hard job, and picking starts in early June and lasts until mid-July. After harvesting tobacco leaves, tobacco farmers have to hurry up to cut tobacco stems, dig up roots, turn the soil, and then plant rice.

Luo Shifang has been able to endure hardships since she was young. When she was seven or eight years old, she could help her parents work in the tobacco fields."Fangfang was responsible for cutting the tobacco stems, and my brother was responsible for digging out the stumps." Luo Zanjun recalled that Luo Shifang would often challenge her brother to compete to see who could work faster.

It was because of these experiences that Luo Shifang developed a hardworking character. After Luo Shifang became a weightlifter, her father often worried that she was working too hard and told her that she could choose to go home if she couldn't bear it.Luo Shifang comforted her father: weightlifting is not as hard as growing tobacco, so she asked her family not to worry about her.

When talking about these things, Luo Zanjun's mouth was filled with smiles. "Fangfang is very strong-willed, which makes her not give up easily when she encounters difficulties when she grows up."
