Recently, the "2024 Thailand Future Science Power Exhibition" hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand was successfully held in Thailand, and Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand presided over the opening ceremony. With the support of Red Bull's founding company TENCEL Group, the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) cooperated to show the public the precious samples brought back from the moon by China's "Chang'e 5" probe during the exhibition. This is also the first time that the lunar soil samples of Chang'e 5 have been publicly exhibited outside of China. While showing China's outstanding achievements in the field of aerospace, it also witnessed the deep friendship between China and Thailand.
"The Moon Shines on Me" exhibited for the first time in Thailand, inspiring enthusiasm for space science research
The "2024 Thailand Future Science Power Exhibition" brings together cutting-edge astronomical science and technology and innovative achievements, opening the door to space exploration to the public. As one of the highlights of this exhibition, the Chang'e-5 lunar soil sample was exhibited in Thailand for the first time, appearing in the "Frontier Research Empowers Thailand's Technological Innovation" theme exhibition area supported by Tencel Group. The lunar sample is named "The Moon Shines on Me", named after an ancient Chinese poem. The exhibit is made of special glass as a whole, mainly including a magnifying glass for the jigsaw ball and a trapezoidal base. In the middle of the sphere is a lunar sample, weighing 75 mg, with a diameter of 22 mm in the center area of the box, and a three-step design for the base, representing the three-step strategy of "orbiting", "landing" and "returning" of the lunar exploration project.
In addition to the Chang'e-5 lunar soil samples, this exhibition shows the public the latest progress in aerospace technology, including high-precision telescopes, optical and photon technology, radio wave and digital signal technology, atmospheric science, and high-resolution manufacturing technology. By presenting breakthrough results in the field of cutting-edge astronomical research, inspiring the public's enthusiasm for science, technology and innovation, and igniting the desire to explore the unknown world, so as to move towards a better future together, this coincides with the vision of the Tencel Group to "inspire potential and create a better future together." Over the years, the Tencel Group has been committed to providing support to aerospace research institutions such as the Thai Space Consortium (TSC) and contributing its own strength to expanding the boundaries of astronomical science and technology.
China and Thailand continue to deepen cooperation and exchanges in the field of aerospace science and jointly promote a series of important space exploration projects
As the "China-Thailand Family" enters a new stage, the exchanges between China and Thailand are not only deepening in the economic and trade fields, but also strengthening cooperation and exchanges in many fields such as culture, science and technology, and education. In recent years, the two countries have also carried out a series of important space exploration project cooperation in the field of aerospace science. For example, in April 2024, the China National Space Administration and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of Thailand jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the exploration and peaceful use of outer space, including cooperation in participating in the International Lunar Research Station; in addition, the Chang'e-7 probe, which will be launched in 2026, will carry scientific instruments developed by Thailand to study lunar space weather and cosmic rays. This will also be the first time that Thai scientific instruments have entered deep space from orbit around the earth. These cooperation projects have not only promoted exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of aerospace technology, but also brought extensive opportunities for both sides in scientific research, technology application and talent training.
As China and Thailand continue to expand cooperation in the field of lunar exploration, the lunar soil samples from Chang'e-5 are now on display in Thailand for the first time. Mr. Saran Posachindak, Director of the National Astronomical Institute of Thailand, said: "Through cooperation with the China National Space Administration, exchanges between Thai and Chinese scientists have continued to deepen, and Thailand has been able to develop its own advanced scientific instruments and send them into deep space. The cooperation and exchanges between the two countries will bring new scientific discoveries and innovations to the development of aerospace technology, which will have a significant impact on the Earth."
Mr. Xu Xinxiong, CEO of Tianshi Group, said: "Tianshi Group fully recognizes the importance of promoting aerospace technology research. Space research will drive innovation and development in all walks of life and will also lead us to a better future. In recent years, China and Thailand have continuously deepened cooperation and exchanges in the field of aerospace and promoted more fruitful scientific research. Today, the lunar soil samples of Chang'e 5 are exhibited in Thailand for the first time outside of China, which is undoubtedly a symbol of friendship between China and Thailand. As a Thai company deeply rooted in the Chinese market, Tianshi Group is very happy to be able to participate in it. Next year, China and Thailand will usher in the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The development of relations between the two countries is standing at a new historical starting point. Tianshi Group will contribute its own strength to the further deepening of China-Thailand relations with practical actions." Tianshi Group is the founder and owner of the global Red Bull brand and the "Red Bull" trademark. The Red Bull brand originated in Thailand and is rooted in China. Since the founder of Tianshi Group, Mr. Xu Shubiao, a Thai Chinese, established the first Red Bull factory in China in Hainan in 1993, the Red Bull brand has entered the Chinese market for 31 years. As one of Thailand's leading food and beverage companies, the T.C. Group has a rich product portfolio in both the Thai and Chinese markets, and is committed to providing consumers with diverse energy and vitality. At the same time, relying on its business in Thailand and China, the T.C. Group continues to give back to the local community, actively promotes economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand through practical actions, and makes its own contribution to the deepening of friendship between the two countries.
