Beijing launches special agricultural product consumption season, JD.com opens a special area for high-quality agricultural products

On August 6, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and JD Group jointly organized a launching ceremony for the "Beijing Suburbs Are So Beautiful - Beijing Specialty Agricultural Products Consumption Season" at JD headquarters, marking the official launch of the six-month "Beijing Specialty Agricultural Products Consumption Season" series of activities.
The "Beijing Specialty Agricultural Products Consumption Season" will last from August this year to January next year. During the event, an online sales area for "Beijing Specialty Agricultural Products" will be set up on JD.com, bringing together local agricultural products e-commerce stores with the "Beijing Younong" brand as the main body, and organizing a series of themed marketing promotion activities with strong sustainability and rich content, in addition to supporting policies for new store openings, e-commerce skills training, consumption and logistics subsidies, traffic support and other related support.
At the launching ceremony, the first theme event, "Fresh Peach Season", was officially launched, and offline on-site tasting and sales activities were carried out. With seasonal fresh peaches as the main product, the first phase of the event selected more than 40 merchants to enter the platform area. It is reported that during the consumption season, the big data analysis of Beijing's local agricultural product production and sales and the listing period will be integrated to select the best seasonal specialty products for promotion. At least one special agricultural product theme event will be launched every month, and a series of activities such as "Summer Festival", "Harvest Festival", "Fresh Pear Season", "Apple Season" and "Strawberry Season" will be carried out to attract traffic to the special area with theme activities, driving consumption of all categories. Consumers can search for the keywords "Beijing Excellent Agricultural Zone", "Beijing Special Agricultural Products Consumption Season" and "Beijing Agricultural Products Consumption Season" on JD.com to enter the special area for consumption.
In recent years, Beijing has cultivated and created 35 geographical indication agricultural products, 174 excellent agricultural brands, more than 600 green organic agricultural production enterprises, and 7 national-level agricultural industrial towns. It has continued to make efforts from the production end and vigorously developed characteristic, high-quality and branded urban modern agriculture. As agriculture enters a high-quality development stage with green production, excellent varieties and better quality, the upward demand for high-quality agricultural products in the suburbs of Beijing is becoming increasingly urgent.
A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that the launch of the "Beijing Specialty Agricultural Products Consumption Season" event will give full play to the resource advantages of the leading e-commerce platforms, form successful experience in the in-depth connection between Beijing's suburban "local specialties" and large e-commerce platforms, create influential brand activities, and further open up the channels between the "production end" and "consumption end" of agricultural products, enhance the popularity and influence of Beijing's suburban specialty agricultural products, provide consumers with specialty high-quality local agricultural products, enhance the online marketing level of production and operation entities, and drive the sales of local agricultural products and increase farmers' income.
