6 hikers were trapped due to heavy fog

At 17:47 on August 3, the Zhaitang Fire and Rescue Station in Mentougou District received a dispatch order that six hikers were trapped in the mountains due to heavy fog about 1 km east of the main peak of Dongling Mountain and needed to be rescued by firefighters. After receiving the alarm, a rescue team consisting of 1 car and 10 people rushed to the scene.

On the way, the firefighters contacted the caller and learned more information: the six hikers went up the mountain to play at 13:30 that day, and began to go down the mountain after reaching the top at around 16:00. However, when they were going down the mountain, the fog became thicker and the hikers could not see the mountain road in front of them, so they did not dare to act rashly. Afterwards, the firefighters immediately contacted a local guide and asked him to give directions to the trapped hikers over the phone. At around 18:00, the firefighters arrived at the foot of the mountain and went into the mountain with the guide to search and rescue.
