The Second Company of the First Battalion of a Brigade of the 72nd Army Group was established in 1937. It has participated in battles such as the Battle of Tashan, the Battle of Jincheng, and the bombardment of Kinmen. It was the first batch of Katyusha rocket launchers, long-range multiple rocket launchers, and new long-range rocket launchers. In recent years, the company has insisted on using Xi Jinping's thoughts on strengthening the army to build and educate people, continue fine traditions, focus on preparing for war, forge a "four iron" strong company, and successfully complete the "Joint Sword" exercise and many other major tasks. On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping signed an order to award the honorary title of "Model Rocket Artillery Company" to the Second Company of the First Battalion of a Brigade of the 72nd Army Group. On July 9, 2024, the Central Military Commission held a grand ceremony to award honorary titles in Beijing. President Xi Jinping personally presented the award flag to the Second Company of the First Battalion of a Brigade of the 72nd Army Group, which was awarded the honorary title of "Model Rocket Artillery Company".
