Pu'er, August 6 (Huang Xinghong) On August 6, the 2024 "Study Tour in Pu'er" activity for the new generation of Chinese in Laos kicked off. 39 new generation Chinese from Nantha Province and Phongsali Province in Laos will conduct a four-day exchange study in Pu'er City, Yunnan Province to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
Pu'er City, located in the southwestern border of China, is "a city connecting three countries" and is connected to Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar by mountains and rivers.

The launching ceremony was held at the China-Laos Folk Economic and Trade Cultural Exchange Center in Simao District, Pu'er City. Luo Haiying, director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People's Government of Pu'er City, introduced at the launching ceremony that in Pu'er, everyone can see the charming natural scenery, feel the profound cultural heritage, and explore the ancient tea ceremony. It is hoped that the new generation of Lao Chinese will feel, learn, and grow with their hearts during the study tour, have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and history, constantly enrich themselves, and contribute their own strength to promoting friendly exchanges and common development between China and Laos.
At the China-Laos Folk Economic, Trade and Cultural Exchange Center, the new generation of Lao Chinese listened to lectures on China's excellent traditional culture and learned knowledge such as Tang poetry and Song lyrics.
"I have loved Tang and Song poetry since I was a child. In Pu'er, I listened to the song "May We Live Long" and found Su Shi's lyrics particularly beautiful." Liu Xiaoyin, a 17-year-old Chinese youth from Nanta Province, said that she would take beautiful pictures and videos on this trip and share what she saw and heard with her relatives and friends when she returns home.

At Pu'er National Middle School, the new generation of Laotian Chinese learned calligraphy and painting, played friendly basketball games with students of the school, and sang songs together.
"Chinese culture is extensive and profound, and calligraphy is particularly interesting." After learning calligraphy, Ah Hua, a 12-year-old Chinese teenager from Phongsaly Province, said she would continue to learn it. She said that she had been to Pu'er many years ago, and this time she revisited the place and found that Pu'er's transportation was more convenient and the city was more prosperous.
Fu Kang, an 18-year-old Chinese youth from Nanthaburi Province, met twin students Zhou Shuangsi and Zhou Shuangting at Pu'er National Middle School. "They look exactly the same. They taught me how to hold a brush and write calligraphy. Now we are good friends. We have left contact information with each other and will communicate frequently in the future," Fu Kang said happily.

During the event, the new generation of Lao Chinese will go to Simao District of Pu'er City and Ning'er Hani and Yi Autonomous County to study tea culture and visit Pu'er City Museum.
This event is hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People's Government of Pu'er City, aiming to promote the excellent traditional Chinese culture and promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Laos. (End)
