Chinanews.com Zhejiang News, August 6 (Zhang Bin, Wang Shuang) In the process of military construction and development under the leadership of the Party, retired military cadres are an indispensable force. They have not only made great contributions to the country and the people during the war years, but also played an important role in peacetime.
In recent years, Ningbo has accumulated rich experience in the service management and role play of retired military cadres. The Ningbo Veterans Affairs Bureau uses various means to allow retired military cadres to continue to shine and pass on their red genes to the new generation.
Rescue and excavate red culture and establish a talent resource reserve pool
In order to protect and pass on the precious red resources of retired military cadres, the Ningbo Military Retirement Center No. 2 has taken a series of measures. In particular, a military retirement red cultural resource library has been established through recording micro videos and other means. These micro videos not only record the precious memories of retired military cadres, but also become an educational platform across time and space.
Just before the July 1st of this year, retired military cadres from the Second Military Retirement Center of Ningbo City, combined with their unique advantages in ideological integrity, wrote, directed and performed a situational play called "Integrity in Military Retirement" and impressed the audience with their acting skills. After the micro-video was released on the local mainstream media, it was viewed more than 50,000 times.

On the eve of August 1st, seven retired military cadres, including Fan Jinran, an old soldier who fought in the Korean War, Hu Ruizhi, an old lady who helped students with love, and Zhao Xiuhong, the National March 8th Red Flag Bearer, walked into the studio, sat on the anchor desk, and shared their experiences and insights in different historical periods of revolution, construction, and reform led by the Party, with great enthusiasm.
The "Big Ideological and Political" practice base of Ningbo Military Retirees University has become an important platform for retired military cadres to play their role. The base not only receives primary school students to participate in red cultural practice activities, but also provides opportunities for college students to practice society. In July this year, students from Siyanqi Primary School listened to heroic stories here, and students from Zhejiang Textile and Garment Vocational and Technical College conducted practical learning activities here.
Activate the red gene and create a red lecture classroom for military retirees
In order to pass on the red gene, the Ningbo Military Retirement Center No. 2 organized a military retirement red propaganda team to enter the campus and have face-to-face exchanges with young people.
On July 13, retired military cadres Wang Rende and Gao Mingshan gave a patriotism lecture entitled "Sticking to the Original Aspiration and Welcoming the August 1st" to students from Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology at Huangli Rest Home. The two veterans combined their own experiences to talk about the development and changes of Chinese society and their military experience, which deeply moved the students present.
Ningbo Military Retirees’ University for the Elderly has further deepened the role of retired military cadres in ideological and political education through its “Red Candle Ideological and Political Education” project.

On April 10, the "Red Candle Ideological and Political" lecturer team of Ningbo Military Retirees University for the Aged gave a political and ideological class with the theme of "Promoting the Heroic Spirit and Protecting a Safe China" to teachers and students of Zhejiang Textile and Garment Vocational and Technical College. Different from traditional lectures, this class stimulated the enthusiasm of teachers and students to participate through face-to-face interviews, turning "bowing heads" into "raising heads".
In Ningbo, many retired military cadres are still actively making use of their remaining energy after retirement, not only providing valuable spiritual wealth for young people, but also contributing to the harmony and stability of society. Through various forms of educational activities, retired military cadres have proved with their actual actions that "retirement does not fade". Even in their later years, they still maintain a high sense of responsibility and mission, and contribute their own strength to the future of the country and the nation. (End)
