In order to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the elderly in the area, the Dougezhuang area established a senior university in the second community of Fuli City in 2018. This year, the senior university was fully upgraded to the "Rong" College, which not only continues to serve elderly students, but also expands the scope of students to residents of all ages. Various courses such as mobile photography and hand-knitting meet the learning needs of different students. Everyone can master skills, explore interests, and make new friends at their doorstep.
On May 20 this year, Rong Academy officially opened. On the first day of the school, the academy carefully prepared a mobile photography course for the students. Professional lecturers taught the basic knowledge and practical skills of photography such as composition and focus in an easy-to-understand way, and patiently answered every student's questions through vivid on-site demonstrations and interactive Q&A. In the practical session, the students showed their photography works and exchanged their experiences.
So far, according to the learning interests and needs of the elderly, the "Rong" College has opened a number of courses such as mobile photography, calligraphy and painting, chorus, electric wind instrument, hand-weaving, etc., with a total of 34 classes. Fuli City Community No. 2 has made full use of the party organization's funds for serving the masses, coordinated the resources in the jurisdiction, and invited professional teachers to teach at prices lower than the market price, forming a semi-public welfare teaching model of "community payment, ground floor business teaching, and students benefiting". The college has also formed a volunteer team composed of elderly student party members to participate in teaching management and tutoring. The students said that in this warm big family, they not only learned knowledge, but also made new friends and regained their long-lost enthusiasm and fun for learning.
In addition, the "Rong" College also makes full use of the fragmented time of "three minutes before class", where social workers explain the party's policies and guidelines to the students, share community dynamics, advocate civilized and healthy lifestyles, etc., to enhance the elderly students' sense of community belonging and responsibility, and encourage them to actively participate in the construction and management of the community.
In the future, Dougezhuang area will continue to use the new era of civilized practice activities as a carrier, and the "Rong" College of the second community of R&F City as a demonstration point. Relying on the rich resource conditions in the jurisdiction and combining the actual needs and characteristics of the elderly, it will continue to innovate the elderly care service model and system, improve the capacity and level of elderly care services, and strive to create a good social atmosphere of respecting, honoring and loving the elderly, so that every elderly friend can have a place to rely on, something to learn, and something to enjoy.
