According to Taiwan's United Daily News on April 8, the Taiwan military is expected to begin receiving the first batch of 38 M1A2T tanks by the end of this year. It is confirmed that the new tanks purchased by Taiwan are all equipped with the so-called "urban warfare" upgrade kit developed by the US military based on the protection needs of urban warfare, including the commander's transparent protective cover on the top of the turret, a machine gun remote control station, etc., to adapt to the "urban warfare" environment in Taiwan.
It is reported that the Taiwan military has purchased a total of 108 M1A2T tanks from the United States, which will be assigned to the 269th and 584th Brigades of the Taiwan Army, mainly to carry out beach counterattack missions in the north.

Previously, the mainland has repeatedly warned about the military connection between the United States and Taiwan. On March 27, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, pointed out that the United States is hyping up the mainland's "military threat" and exaggerating the atmosphere of war in the Taiwan Strait, but it is just looking for an excuse to interfere in the Taiwan issue and make money for the US military-industrial complex.

They are not doing this for the good of the Taiwanese compatriots, but will only push Taiwan increasingly into a dangerous situation of war.
On March 28, Major General Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, warned the DPP authorities that the more rampant the separatist activities of "Taiwan independence" become, the less likely it is that a peaceful solution will be achieved.
