According to Fox News, an Australian man was bitten on the leg by a shark while surfing recently. He was rescued by the police in time and doctors hope to reconnect his leg.
The man, Kai McKenzie, 23, was attacked by a shark while surfing near New South Wales, Australia, and his leg was bitten. He then used a wave to successfully return to the beach. Fortunately, he met a retired police officer who was walking his dog. The police officer stopped the bleeding with a dog leash in time, and then the man was airlifted to the hospital. His surfing team said "McKenzie is the strongest person we know." The team wrote on Instagram this week: "McKenzie is the youngest boy in the team and the strongest person we know. He experienced a lot of injuries last year, but he never complained and always found his form as soon as possible to do what he loves. Now he was attacked by a shark while surfing in Port Macquarie and lost a leg. The whole team likes him very much and we hope he will return to the team soon."
Currently, McKenzie has undergone surgery and is in critical but stable condition. Mid-North Coast Police Chief Stuart Campbell said they will work to find out what type of shark bit McKenzie. Macquarie Port Hastings lifeguards later reported that the beach had been reopened after the attack. (China Youth Network compiled report)
