An Evergrande Auto employee interviewed said:Since July 29, people have been laid off from positions including production, R&D, quality inspection, and administrative personnel. Dozens of people acquainted by this employee alone were affected.

HR replied that social security can be paid by the employees themselves as flexible employment personnel. This means that these employees have been dismissed by the company by default, and most of them still have more than one year left on their contracts.

The Human Resources and Social Security Bureau advised them that if the company fired them without reason during the contract period, they could apply for legal aid.

It is reported that Evergrande Auto had stopped production at the end of last year.Most employees were asked to rest at home, without any salary but only social security. The number of employees also dropped sharply from over 6,000 at its peak to less than 500.
