Fast Technology reported on August 6 that according to media reports, Boyd Muir, Chief Financial Officer of Universal Music Group, revealed in an interview that Apple Music seems to have stagnated in growth since the number of users reached 60 million in 2019, and has not yet broken through the 70 million mark.

But this phenomenon is not unique to Apple Music. Other streaming platforms such as Spotify and Amazon are also facing the problem of slowing user growth.

Muir believes that streaming services have bid farewell to the era of rapid growth, the user growth rate of the entire industry is slowing down, and some companies have even begun layoffs to cope with this challenge.

In March this year, Apple Vice President Oliver Schusser said in an interview with Wallpaper magazine that Apple has been launching new features for Apple Music, such as karaoke mode, Classical application, spatial audio and dynamic lyrics.

Schusser also pointed out that while most companies in the market are shifting from music to podcasts and audiobooks, Apple remains focused on music and strives to bring users a better music experience.
