The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement on the 4th saying that the Israeli army and the Israel National Security Service (Shin Bet) attacked militants operating in the command and control centers of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) based on intelligence that day. These centers were located in two schools in Gaza City.

The Palestinian News Agency reported that the attacked school is located in the Nasser neighborhood in western Gaza City, which houses a large number of displaced people.
