When it comes to Beijing, everyone has a different opinion about it. For many young people in China, Beijing is a place to pursue their dreams. Generation after generation of young people drift in Beijing like a surging wave. I am also one of the Beijing drifters. Luckier than other Beijing drifters, I caught up with the wave of the Internet and saved a little money to buy my first house in my life, a "capsule house" of only 24 square meters. Because the house is too small, I encountered troubles when decorating it, because the decoration company was not willing to take such a small order, which was very embarrassing. There was no way, I could only design it myself and then find a master to install it.

This is what the house looked like before the renovation. Well, it is very small, but no matter how small the house is, it is still my own home! I still hope to realize all my wishes for the house, such as putting a bathtub in my 1.8 square meter bathroom.

The smaller the house, the more you can use every square meter, so I have to be precise about every size and detail of the room. I have measured the size of the washing machine, refrigerator and wardrobe to the millimeter.

Floor Plan

Entrance

After entering the door, there is the entrance hall. There is a flip-top shoe cabinet against the wall on the left, but it is thinner than ordinary shoe cabinets and cannot take up too much corridor area. There is also a wall cabinet of the same width above, which is mainly used to store out-of-season shoes.

kitchen

Opposite the shoe cabinet is my kitchen, with a built-in induction cooker and the washing machine covered by the black grid underneath.

The range hood uses a side-suction type with strong suction power to minimize the pollution of oil smoke to the indoor air.

The kitchen countertop is quite limited, so I put everything that can be hung on the wall there. I also stacked the microwave and rice cooker on storage racks, which barely solves the problem of desktop storage.

I didn’t waste the space between the washing machine and the cabinet, and chose vertical drawers to store condiments.

Then a beautiful ins hanging curtain is the second line of defense to prevent oil smoke from spreading into the room, and it looks pretty good!

Guest restaurant

I measured the size of the refrigerator and wall cabinets in the living room in advance. Isn't it perfect? The cabinets are mainly used to store my daily necessities, such as discounted paper towels and laundry detergent. There is also a small cart next to it to store scattered items.

The dining table is a folding table I bought from IKEA, which can accommodate 4 people to dine at the same time.

Opposite the restaurant is a whole row of wardrobes and TV cabinets. There's nothing we can do about it. Women need a lot of space to store their clothes.

But I have no interest in folding clothes, so I designed the wardrobe to be a two-layer hanging style, which is more convenient for me to put and take. The empty space next to it is the TV cabinet, facing the bed, which is convenient for me to watch TV while lying on the bed.

I also chose a bed with storage function, and I put the quilts and coats for the changing seasons underneath.

I put a long table as a dressing table in the best lighting place near the window. I can wash and dress in the sunshine every morning and feel beautiful. I made two shelves above the bedside to put some of my favorite decorations. The double-layer design of the curtains has a good light-blocking effect, and the quality of sleep at night is very high!

Bathroom before renovation

The following is the "peak" of my design career. Do you remember the 1.8 square meter bathroom I mentioned before? Look, this is what it looked like before the renovation. Isn't it extremely simple?

In order to design it well, I took a ruler and measured it for a whole day, and finally it became like this. Well, it should be considered a gorgeous transformation! There are three main changes: one is to move the toilet to the corner, the second is to place the sink opposite the toilet, and the third is to replace the floor radiator with a wall-mounted one. After such a "swing and turn", it is just enough to fit the small bathtub I dreamed of.

Although my bathroom is small, it has everything it needs, and the dry and wet areas are separated by a shower curtain.

Of course, the bathroom must have a place for storage. I use the rack under the water heater to put shower supplies, and the hanging rod to hang bathing tools. I also did not miss the gap between the bathtub and the wall. Everything for cleaning the bathtub is here. However, I still need to remind friends who want a bathtub that it is really not suitable for lazy people! Because cleaning the bathtub will really make you collapse!

Above the sink is a mirrored cabinet with storage space, where toothbrushes, facial cleansers and other items are placed, and towels are placed on the electric towel rack on the bathtub wall.

The above is the entire decoration process of my 24-square-meter home. Doesn’t it feel good? Although I call it a "capsule house", I think the final design effect should not be inferior to a luxury house!Just like what I said in my circle of friends, living seriously is the minimum respect for yourself..come on!
