Apple CEO Tim Cook said on Thursday that ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia by the end of the year.

Apple first said during its WWDC keynote in June that ChatGPT would be integrated on iPhones, iPads, and Macs later this year, and Cook’s comments suggest that timeline remains on track for the first week of August.

Cook responded to a question about the timing of the Apple Intelligence feature’s launch by saying, “ChatGPT will be integrated by the end of the year.”

With user permission, Siri will be able to display ChatGPT answers directly when answering questions and other prompts. ChatGPT will also be an option in Apple's system-wide writing tool feature, allowing users to generate text and images. Apple said ChatGPT will use OpenAI's latest GPT-4o model on its platform.

iPhone, iPad, and Mac users will be able to use ChatGPT for free without having to create an account.
