Zhitong Finance APP learned that according to two people who help Nvidia produce chips and server hardware, Nvidia's (NVDA.US) upcoming artificial intelligence chip will be delayed by three months or more due to design defects, which may affect customers such as Meta, Google and Microsoft, which have ordered chips worth tens of billions of dollars in total.

Nvidia Corp. this week told Microsoft Corp., one of its biggest customers, and another large cloud provider that the most advanced artificial intelligence chips in its new Blackwell family of chips will be delayed, according to a Microsoft employee and another person familiar with the matter.

These delays mean that significant shipments are not expected until the first quarter of 2025.

An Nvidia spokesperson reportedly declined to comment on the company's statement to customers regarding the delayed release, but told the media that "production will gradually increase later this year."
