On August 1, relevant staff of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport told Red Star News reporters that the domestic support capability improvement and renovation project of Tianfu Airport has been completed after four months of construction and is officially put into use today.

It is reported that the renovation project has expanded the security check channel of Terminal 2 andGates 119-128 at Terminal 1 will be used for domestic flights.After the renovation, the domestic area will have five new security checkpoints, 10 boarding bridge gates and about 13,000 square meters of waiting space, which will effectively ease the waiting pressure during peak hours and create a more spacious and comfortable waiting environment for passengers.

The reporter learned that after the Tianfu Airport renovation project is put into use, domestic passengers need to enter the waiting area from the security check channel on the 4th floor of Terminal 2 after completing the check-in procedures, and can go to the corresponding boarding gate in time according to the guidance signs.

Among them, boarding gates 46-60 and 201-252 are located in Terminal 2, and the farthest walk after security check is about 810 meters. Boarding gates 27-45 and 119-128 are located in Terminal 1, and the farthest walk after security check is about 720 meters. Passengers need to take the automatic people mover (APM) in the terminal to arrive. Passengers need to reserve enough time and go there as soon as possible after completing the check-in formalities and passing the security check.
