Although the Indian smartphone market is the second largest in the world, it is probably the most special market. Everyone knows the reason. Even so, domestic mobile phones have overcome many difficulties in this market and become the king of the local market. And once again, they have dethroned Samsung.

On July 31, the well-known market research organization Counterpoint Research officially released the second quarter survey report on the Indian market. The report shows that in the past second quarter, the demand in the Indian market slowed down, and shipments fell by 2% year-on-year. Xiaomi ranked first with a market share of 18.9%, a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percentage points. Vivo ranked second with a market share of 18.8%, a year-on-year increase of 1.4 percentage points. Samsung ranked third with a market share of 18.1%, a decline of 0.3 percentage points. Realme ranked fourth with a market share of 12.5%, a year-on-year increase of 0.5 percentage points. OPPO ranked fifth with a market share of 11.4%, a year-on-year increase of 0.1 percentage points. From the overall data, only Samsung's share has declined year-on-year, and the remaining four domestic brands have all increased year-on-year.

The above ranking is based on shipment volume. Now let's look at the ranking based on shipment value. This time, Samsung ranked first, with a market share of 24.5%, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 percentage points. Vivo ranked second again, with a market share of 16.8%, a year-on-year increase of 0.8 percentage points. Apple ranked third, with a market share of 16.3%, a year-on-year increase of 0.1 percentage points. Xiaomi ranked fourth, with a market share of 10.8%, a year-on-year increase of 2.7 percentage points. OPPO ranked fifth, with a market share of 10.1%, a year-on-year increase of 0.5 percentage points.

PS: The shipment amount is actually the value of the shipped mobile phones. This calculation depends on the average selling price of each brand model, but it is not the actual sales volume. Everyone should be clear about this. Just like shipment volume is not equal to sales volume.

From the data, we can see that domestic brands have survived all kinds of turmoil and have continued to grow steadily. Especially after experiencing unfair treatment, Xiaomi has now returned to the top position in the Indian market. I hope that domestic mobile phones will continue to work hard and unite to dominate the Indian smartphone market.
