After being exposed for using generative AI, Activision Blizzard seemed to want to express its attitude. Recently, Activision released the map "Caldera" in the popular game "Call of Duty: Warzone" in an open source form, aiming to promote the development of AI and accelerate the evolution of creative tools.

The "Caldera" map is one of the largest and most complex data sets in the "Call of Duty" series, containing more than 5 million grids, 28 million primitives and more than 1 billion point instances. A total of 4GB of data has been released for free on GitHub.

It is understood that Activision hopes that this data set will become a valuable resource in the academic and training fields for the development of artificial intelligence. Activision also stated: "This move represents Activision's commitment to multiple fields in the academic and research community, including artificial intelligence learning, innovation and development, while promoting the advancement of game development."

In this regard, Pixar's technical director believes that Activision's public release of the "Caldera" map dataset "marks a major milestone for the industry" and clearly stated: "This move not only paves the way for groundbreaking research in the field of environmental geometry and scene construction, but also embodies the collaborative spirit necessary for innovation in our field."
