IT Home reported on July 31 that the official WeChat account of Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. published a blog post yesterday (July 30),It was announced that the world's largest "fully ground-based" LNG storage tank (weighing approximately 1,200 tons) has been topped out at China National Offshore Oil Corporation's Ningbo "Green Energy Port".

IT Home quoted official reports that the design and construction of liquefied natural gas storage tanks is one of the cutting-edge technologies in the energy field. The dome lifting operation uses the principle of pressure difference between a closed space and the outside world to "blow up" the dome with micro-pressure air, and uses a pulley device to help lift the dome to the designated position.

During the dome rising period, the horizontal error and deviation must be controlled within 50 mm. This is the most technically difficult and risky process in the construction of liquefied natural gas storage tanks.

To ensure the safety and stability of the lifting operation, the project team uses multiple systems to monitor in real time and accurately control parameters such as air pressure and speed during the tank lifting process. During the operation, the horizontal offset and rotational deviation of the dome are accurately controlled within 5 mm, and the positioning accuracy meets the highest standards in the industry.

The Ningbo "Green Energy Port" Phase III project, which has completed its roof raising, has a liquefied natural gas storage tank that is 62.6 meters high and nearly 100 meters in diameter. It has a tank capacity of 270,000 cubic meters and can store 169 million cubic meters of natural gas. The design life of the tank is 50 years.

The Ningbo "Green Energy Port" Phase III project has a total of 3 storage tanks, which innovatively adopts a fully "ground-based" design and construction solution. This solution has significant advantages such as high stability, low construction cost, and convenient maintenance. At the same time, it also has the characteristics of strict site selection requirements, high anti-corrosion requirements, and difficulty in temperature control.

The project team has successively overcome technical difficulties such as tank earthquake resistance and pedestal corrosion protection. Among them, 12 technical achievements have filled domestic gaps and reached the world's advanced level.

CNOOC Ningbo "Green Energy Port" is a key planning project for the construction and interconnection of the national natural gas production, supply, storage and sales system. After the third phase of the project is put into production, it will be interconnected with the first and second phase projects to build a national tens of millions of tons of liquefied natural gas storage and transportation base.

The project will further optimize the energy structure in East China, and at the same time significantly enhance the capabilities of regular natural gas supply, peak-shaving reserves and emergency supply in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Additional information:Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd.It is a listed company controlled by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). It is the only large-scale engineering general contracting company in China that integrates offshore oil and gas development engineering design, procurement, construction and offshore installation, commissioning, maintenance, as well as liquefied natural gas, offshore wind power, and refining engineering. It is also one of the largest and most powerful offshore oil and gas engineering general contractors in the Asia-Pacific region. The company's headquarters is located in Tianjin Binhai New Area.
