According to media controlled by the Yemeni Houthi armed forces, the US and British forces launched an air strike on the international airport in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah in western Yemen on the evening of the 26th.

According to Masirah TV, which is controlled by the Houthis, the US-UK coalition launched an airstrike on Hodeidah International Airport on the evening of the 26th. A few hours before the airport was attacked, Kamalan Island, located at the southern end of the Red Sea in Yemen, was also hit by multiple airstrikes by the US-UK coalition. According to local residents, multiple targets set up by the Houthis in the area were hit.

It is not clear how many casualties were caused by the airstrikes on Hodeidah International Airport and Kamalan Island. The US and British forces have not yet commented on the news.

After the outbreak of a new round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict in October last year, the Houthi armed forces used drones and missiles to attack targets in the Red Sea several times, demanding that Israel stop its military operations in the Gaza Strip. Since January 12 this year, the United States and the United Kingdom have launched air strikes on Houthi armed targets several times, causing casualties. Some countries condemned the actions of the United States and Britain, believing that this was an infringement on Yemen's sovereignty and would exacerbate regional tensions.

The Houthis seized the Yemeni capital Sanaa in 2014 and later occupied southern Yemen. Although the Yemeni government and the Houthis reached agreement on a number of important issues under the mediation of the United Nations, the ceasefire agreement failed to last. Affected by the new round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Yemeni peace process has encountered obstacles.

The long-term war has plunged Yemen into a humanitarian crisis. According to UN data, 70% of Yemen’s imported goods and 80% of humanitarian aid enter Yemen through the port of Hodeidah.
