The Lynx infantry fighting vehicle rolled off the production line on December 21, 2023, undergoing extensive acceptance tests covering functionality, performance and quality.

To celebrate this important milestone, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense held a grand handover ceremony, with the participation of Hungarian Defense Minister Krzysztof Salai Bobrovnicki, Director of Rheinmetall Vehicle Systems Europe Björn Bernhard and Executive Director of Rheinmetall Hungary Paul Wolf.

At the handover ceremony, Hungarian Defense Minister Kristof Salai Bobrovnicki said: "I often say that peace requires strength, which means many kinds of strength, and in this regard, we have gained real strength together with Rheinmetall and this alliance. We want to win the future for Hungarians in this alliance. We are building something for the next generation and we are making Hungary stronger."

Let us recall that on August 18, 2023, the ZALA Zone factory was officially put into use. The factory was jointly established by the Hungarian government and the German Rheinmetall Company. It covers an area of 33 hectares and is not only used to produce KF41 "Lynx" infantry fighting vehicles, but alsoSpear2.0 turrets and special vehicles. It is worth noting that the plant has recently produced Turkey's Jidran 4x4 tactical vehicle and will produce the next generation KF51 "Black Panther" EVO main battle tank in the future.

On September 9, 2020, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense ordered 218 KF41HU Lynx infantry fighting vehicles and related products and services from the German Rheinmetall Group, with a total value of more than 2 billion euros. 46 of them were produced in Germany (6 have been delivered), and the remaining 172 were produced in Hungary.

The Hungarian KF41HU "Lynx" has 7 models: infantry fighting vehicle, command vehicle, reconnaissance vehicle, observation vehicle, self-propelledMortar, armored ambulances and driver training vehicles. In the future, self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicles will also be developed, equipped with Sky Ranger 30 remote-controlled turrets.

The KF41 Lynx is Europe's next-generation tracked infantry fighting vehicle, providing powerful firepower and maximum protection on the battlefield. Using a mature modular concept, it can develop a variety of different configurations according to user needs, such as light tanks, fire support vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, command and control vehicles, armored personnel carriers, ambulances, reconnaissance vehicles, medical evacuation platforms, and repair and recovery vehicles.

The Lynx is equipped with advanced combat systems, including a 360° independent digital commander's sight and a digital gunner's sight. A 360° TV/infrared camera network integrated with the sighting system can automatically identify and track targets. Its modular armor design can resist anti-tank weapons, medium-caliber ammunition, artillery shrapnel, improvised explosive devices and shell fragments, ensuring strong protection for the crew.

It is worth mentioning that after the delivery ceremony,Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papper said during a panel discussion at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Switzerland that the company would copy the Hungarian model of production in Ukraine, where the production site opened on June 10. "We repair infantry fighting vehicles there, and we will also repair them there," he told reporters.Howitzer.
