Shenzhen recently issued a notice to further optimize the admission control line for "quota students" in public general high schools, adjusted the admission control score line for "quota students" in the high school entrance examination (similar to Beijing's school quota system), and reduced the admission control line for "quota students" in each public general high school by 11 points on the original basis. The main reason is that the average score of the Shenzhen high school entrance examination this year dropped by 10.37 points.

Before the exam, the Shenzhen Education Department had already set an admission control line for "indicator students" based on the average admission score of public general high schools in the past three years, with the principle of 20 points below the average score line. However, the obvious drop in the average score this time has affected the completion of the "indicator student" plan. Compared with previous years, more candidates were unable to participate in the "indicator student" filing because they could not reach the original admission control line. Therefore, the relevant departments lowered the admission control line for "indicator students" of all public general high schools by the same amount based on the drop in the average score of the high school entrance examination.

However, this adjustment has caused dissatisfaction among some parents, who believe that it affects the interests of candidates admitted through regular admissions. In fact, no one expected that if a large number of "indicator students" failed to complete the enrollment plan, it would mean that more students would transfer back to participate in the unified enrollment, and the competition would also increase. More importantly, the adjustment of the rules is for everyone, and does not involve the issue of fairness and justice in general.

For candidates who have already applied for "quota students", there is no need to worry. It's just that the overall control line has been lowered year-on-year, and the ranking is still based on the score, so there is no impact at all.
