In previous reports on Assassin's Creed: Shadow, politically correct pioneer IGN has always referred to Yasuke as "a real black warrior who existed in history." After Ubisoft issued an "apology" statement yesterday, their wording has subtly changed.

Mark Kern, former World of Warcraft team leader, discovered that IGN wrote in yesterday's report: "Due to limited historical data, there is no conclusive evidence that Yasuke was a samurai, a retainer, or something else." Mark Kern joked that IGN had previously stated that "anyone who does not recognize Yasuke as a samurai is a member of a hate group." According to their logic, they are now also a member of a hate group.

Some players in the comment section found more reports about "Assassin's Creed: Shadow" from IGN, and these articles all called Yasuke "a real samurai in history."
