"GTA6" publisher Take-Two Interactive regards "bad review bombing" as a serious business risk. Recently, the company pointed out in communication with investors that "bad review bombing" poses a significant risk to its business, which will reduce the company's revenue and cause player loss.

Take-Two has been the victim of review bombing for years, and now the gaming giant has directly confirmed their role by officially acknowledging the commercial risks of such online campaigns.

In its latest 10-K filing, Take-Two formally acknowledged the impact of "bad review bombing" on its business, emphasizing that it is important to obtain and maintain high game ratings on third-party platforms because this helps drive players to find their games.

If the rating of any of their games drops, or if they receive a large number of negative reviews causing their rating to drop, their games may become less likely to be played or recommended. They may also be subject to smear campaigns designed to damage the rating of a specific game, which can have a significant impact, leading to loss of players, loss of revenue, and increased advertising and marketing costs for them (to deal with the impact of negative reviews), as well as reputational damage.

Of course, a game being bombed with negative reviews does not mean it is a bad game, because players sometimes give a bad review to a game for some reason to protest. Although the possibility of GTA6 being bombed with negative reviews is very small, strange things may still happen, but this cannot prevent GTA6 from selling well after its release.
