The wind speed here reaches 10,000 meters per second!

Welcome to the State Key Laboratory of High Temperature Gas Dynamics, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Today, we welcome the protagonists, the JF-12 and JF-22 hypersonic shock wave wind tunnels.

Advanced wind tunnels are the foundation for manufacturing advanced aircraft. my country began researching shock tube technology in 1958. Today, the speed, total temperature, experimental model, experimental time and many other parameters of the JF-12 and JF-22 wind tunnels are at the forefront of the world, making my country the only country in the field of hypersonics that has the ability to cover all "flight corridors" for experiments.

Let us now visit the National Key Laboratory of High Temperature Gas Dynamics for Aerospace Flight, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, to get to know these two shock tunnels.
