The unparalleled pleasure of fighting among piles of monsters, picking up legendary equipment dropped all over the ground to upgrade yourself and deal more explosive damage, this is the routine operation of Diablo-like games, and it is also one of the reasons why countless players like this kind of brush game.

At the end of the fourth season of Diablo 4, I really wanted to find another grinding game to fill this long period of inactivity, and Torchlight: Infinite happened to start its fifth season on July 5. As a grinding game enthusiast, I am happy to share my journey of pioneering in the game these days.

Diversity: Make the content more colorful

Torchlight: Infinite has a variety of professions. New players can choose to be summoners or madmen, both of which can deal considerable damage with poor equipment. It can be said that the upper limit is not high but the lower limit is also very low.

In addition, there are fast-brushing and powerful Catwoman, Moon Lady, etc. If you buy the manual, you can also get powerful characters of the season. The Summoner 2 that I chose is a typical zero-氪 player's artifact for pioneering. It is quickly formed and has no threshold to get started. You only need to slightly adjust the construction to deal considerable damage.

The BD of the game characters can be said to be varied. Players need to go through the construction of equipment, skills, talents, otherworldly talents and pets (spirits), etc. After a few hours of the main storyline, I started to move towards a higher goal.

In my pioneering journey, I felt the importance of talent very intuitively. It can be said that as long as you point out the right talent, it is equivalent to equipping several very good big items in the early stage. After a certain number of small talents are pointed out, special talents can be unlocked. Talents are divided into six kinds of godhood, each godhood has four talents to choose from, and each character can choose up to three talents at the same time, but the first big talent must be the basic talent of several godhoods.

For example, in the second summoner game I play, I can choose the Mechanical God based on the damage of the summoned creatures. From the initial melee attack of the mechanical summoned creatures, combined with the core talents, I can let my summoned creatures self-destruct and bomb crazily at level 45, achieving a qualitative leap in output.

There are no class restrictions on the use of skills in Torchlight: Infinite. Every class can use all skills, but some skills require corresponding weapons to release. The active skill bar and passive skill bar in the game are common to all classes. Each skill has five auxiliary skill bars, and opening auxiliary skill bars consumes energy. Players can not only train multiple characters to acquire the skills of other characters, but also install enhanced skills on the auxiliary skill bar. It is not like Diablo 4 where you can strengthen the skill slot as long as you have skill points, but it is unlocked by increasing the "equipment energy". Each piece of equipment has corresponding equipment energy. In the early stage, players should not only look at the equipment entries, but also pay attention to the benefits brought by energy.

The most important thing is to get the equipment. After all, in the brush game, brushing treasure is the most important thing. After unlocking the alien world copy, the content of "Torchlight: Infinite" has just begun. The alien world is divided into five maps, namely the Frozen Abyss, the Boiling Sea of Fire, the Iron Refinement Realm, the Thunder Wasteland and the Dark Night. The difficulty of the alien world is expressed in "moments". From the 1st to the 8th, the attributes of the monsters are constantly improving, but the corresponding benefits are also constantly rising. The currency "First Fire Essence" for trading equipment in the game is dropped in large quantities at the difficulty of 7 or above. Generally speaking, players have to obtain some qualified equipment at least after 4th, and the equipment entries are also divided into levels from T0-T3. Brush the appropriate equipment and top entries, and constantly make yourself stronger through refining.

The Godhead Slate is also a type of equipment. This setting is a bit similar to Tetris, which makes me shine. Those slates of different shapes need to be arranged and combined to maximize the benefits. Every time you rotate and move them, you have to think about how to place them, and the attribute bonus they provide cannot be ignored.

The scale setting of the alien dungeon here needs to be unlocked step by step. The difficulty is not like I did in Diablo 4, where I just went through the Hell Rage and unlocked it. Usually players have to hit enough beacons in a specific scale, then unlock the final BOSS, and advance after killing it. The higher the scale, the more troublesome it is to unlock, until the King of All Worlds is defeated.

In fact, for many players who have limited understanding of the game and don't want to invest too much, choosing a profession like summoner at the beginning of the season to constantly brush scale 7 is also a good way to play. It is even possible to earn some money and support your own big account by speed brushing.

If you want to experience advanced gameplay, then continuously advancing in the Brave Path, which is called "Tower Climbing" by veteran players, is also a good choice. However, tower climbing is extremely challenging in terms of BD and game thinking, so it is not recommended for players who don't like challenges.

The pet system can be said to be the biggest improvement in the game, and it is also a test of the player's financial resources. Pets can greatly improve the player's ability to obtain rare equipment. If you are worried that you will invest too much in the pet system, don't worry. The production team has prepared a fire-brushing pet Cloud Collector-Liquid Gold for players this season. With other treasure-brushing talents, it has the effect of 1+1>2. In the contract function, you can see the detailed points of the pet, and the benefits it brings can also be seen at a glance.

Convenience: Allow players to enter battle faster

Convenience is my first feeling after playing the game. This convenience allows me to adapt to the multiple settings in Torchlight Infinite more quickly in the early stages of the game. It is not a simple and crude reproduction of the settings in the old version of Torchlight, but it retains the purest part after absorbing the essence of games such as Diablo and Path of Exile.

For example, when learning to build a BD school in the early stage, players can learn the schools set by the masters in the one-click recommendation function. After selecting the recommendation, there will be a star icon prompt every time you add talents and choose skills. Of course, we can also see their equipment matching. Of course, blindly copying other people's BD is not the best strategy. It is also interesting to learn ideas and build your own school through existing resources.

In addition, a mechanism similar to the first-level construction project to filter out dropped items allows players to focus on picking up the grade they want. There are also prompts for upgrading skills in the game, and the system will give a more obvious mark when the player forgets to upgrade himself.

The game's equipment can also be purchased in the trading house. Just search for the corresponding equipment to display the prices of various types of equipment, and even filter for specific items, so you don't have to waste a lot of time selecting equipment.

The portability is also reflected in the cross-platform interoperability of the game. As an office worker, you cannot always sit in front of the computer and keep brushing. When you are out, you can use the spare time to brush some regular copies on your mobile phone, and then return home to use the computer to enjoy the Torchlight with higher picture quality and smoother frame rate.

Innovation: The main point is to listen to advice

If a brush game is repeated in a stereotyped way every season, then boredom is the end sooner or later. In the fifth season of Torchlight: Infinite, I am very happy to witness the many changes made by the official.

In the "Doll Club" theme season, players can approach gears to unlock more monster challenges to exchange for items, and the affixes of this season's legendary equipment can also be inherited. Starting with the addition of the Divine Tablet in the second season, it can be found that the changes in each season are very distinctive, not just a simple stacking of numbers, but also to satisfy the fun of players' treasure hunting while expanding the season's benefits.

In addition, a lot of portability optimizations have been updated this season. For example, in the cube craving phase after the copy ends, players can now use the one-click automatic craving function, and one-click switching of pets is also more convenient. Players can respond to various types of challenges by presetting different plans.

The alien talent "Void Star Map" is one of the gameplays updated this season, which is a bit like the extra-game growth element in the RPG game. By clearing the alien dungeon, you can gain points to enhance the twenty alien talent star clusters, such as increasing the probability of treasure drops. In layman's terms, players can use different styles to brush treasures this time, and the way equipment drops will also change. The combination of the void star map and pets is particularly important. For example, the magic cube pet needs to point out the magic cube star cluster, so that more drops can be obtained at the settlement. There are countless such combinations. Although many professions have fixed BDs, there are still too many things beyond ideas that are worth studying.

After a few days of playing, I still feel that there are too many things worth exploring in "Torchlight: Infinite". Every update of the game represents the official attempt to make the game more in line with player needs. At the same time, new mechanisms are constantly enhancing the depth of the gameplay. It is very suitable for players who like to study new things. If you are also a fan of Diablo-like brush games, then "Torchlight: Infinite" is indeed worth playing.
