IT Home reported on July 16 that the CMF Phone 1, which features a customizable design and a unique replaceable back cover, was found to be much more difficult to repair than expected after being disassembled by PBKreviews. As the first model launched by CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, the CMF Phone 1 is positioned in the mid-range market.

IT Home noticed that CMF Phone 1 has a unique design. Its back cover is fixed with four flat head screws and an "accessory knob" instead of the adhesive commonly used in the industry.

Once the screws are removed, the plastic back can be easily removed. However, replacing the battery is not so easy.A thin protective layer covers the battery, and removing it will void the phone's warranty.

The next thing that comes into view is 12 Phillips screws. Each screw is affixed with an anti-tamper label. Removing it will also mean the loss of warranty. After removing the screws, you can see the camera module and antenna cable on the top.

Next is the motherboard, one of the core components of the phone, which integrates chips, memory, storage, sensors, and front and rear cameras. PBKreviews pointed out that the battery removal becomes very difficult due to a hidden screw under the "accessory knob". Only by removing this screw can the battery be removed.

PBKreviews gave the CMF Phone 1 a repairability score of 6.5 out of 10.Hidden battery screws, anti-tampering stickers, and speaker and logic board covers that are more difficult to remove than on other phones all complicate the repair process and can void your warranty.
