Zhitong Finance APP learned that Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that it has successfully completed the verification of its fastest 10.7 Gbps LPDDR5X DRAM on MediaTek's next-generation Dimensity flagship mobile platform. It is reported that this memory is the "fastest in the industry" and has a performance improvement of more than 25% and a capacity increase of more than 30% compared to the previous generation.

The 10.7Gbps speed verification was conducted using Samsung’s 16GB LPDDR5X package specifications based on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 flagship mobile platform, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of the year. The two companies maintained close cooperation and completed the verification in just three months.

Samsung’s 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X consumes about 25% less power than its predecessor and offers about 25% better performance than its predecessor. This can extend the battery life of mobile devices and enhance on-device AI performance, thereby increasing the speed of AI functions (such as speech-to-text generation) without the need for server or cloud access.

As the device-side AI market expands, especially AI smartphones, energy-efficient, high-performance LPDDR DRAM solutions are becoming increasingly important. Through verification with MediaTek, Samsung is solidifying its position at the forefront of the low-power, high-performance DRAM market, and is expected to expand its application range from mobile devices to servers, PCs and automotive devices.
