IT Home reported on July 16 that friends may encounter the problem of "I took the photo, but there are no related photos in the album" when using iPhone to take pictures. In iOS 18/macOS 15, Apple quietly introduced a "restore" function for the "Photos" app to solve the related bug.

IT Home learned thatApple believes that this bug, where photos are taken but not stored in the album, is caused by "database corruption".In iOS 18/macOS 15, the system will automatically scan for photos and videos that can be recovered. Users can find a "Recovered Photos" album in the "Photos" app, which may store "content that was not correctly saved to the photo library for various reasons". Users can copy these photos back to the album.

  • Open the Photos app and tap Albums.

  • Scroll down to Utilities and select Recovered Photos.

  • Select a photo or video from your album.

  • Click Delete permanently or Restore to library.
