recently, it was reported online that "nails came from nowhere on the highway, and the tires of dozens of vehicles were damaged to varying degrees."

after preliminary investigation, it was found that the box containing the thumbtacks accidentally fell from the truck. at about 4:30 pm on october 6, when a truck loaded with thumbtacks was driving to the mozi section (in shizhu county) of the shanghai-chongqing expressway in the city direction, a box of thumbtacks fell from the cargo compartment and scattered on the ground. on the road, the tires of about 20 vehicles behind were punctured by thumbtacks, but it did not cause a tire blowout or cause a traffic accident.

after receiving the alarm, the highway traffic patrol police in the area quickly rushed to the scene to deal with the problem, and notified chongqing yudong expressway co., ltd. to promptly remove the scattered thumbtacks. at the same time, the vehicles with damaged tires were concentrated in the zhongzhou service area for disposal, and yudong expressway co., ltd. paid the compensation in advance. at about 1 a.m. on october 7, all vehicles with damaged tires were disposed of and left the chungju service area. currently, the police are conducting further investigation into the vehicle involved.
