kuai technology reported on october 5 that bitauto.com recently released an inventory of the top-selling models in the top 20 countries in terms of car sales in august. the list is ranked based on the total sales of cars in each country, and the top-selling models are counted separately.

the list shows,the total sales volume of automobiles ranked first in the chinese market. the best-selling model was byd seagull with 46,800 units and a market share of 2.43%.

the united states follows closely behind,the top-selling model is the ford f-150 pickup truck, with sales of 62,800 units. it was also the highest-selling model in the world in august, with a market share of 4.28%.

among other countries, there is a big gap between total vehicle sales and that of china and the united states. japan ranks third. the top-selling model is honda n-box. the vehicle is a japanese specialty "k-car" with sales of 14,400 units and a market share of 4.4 %.

india ranks fourth in the world in terms of car sales. the best-selling model is the suzuki brezza, with sales of 19,200 units in august and a market share of 6.21%.

brazil and germany ranked fifth and sixth respectively, with the best-selling models being fiat strada and volkswagen t-roc (tange in china).

canada ranks seventh. the top-selling model is the same as the united states, both ford f-150s. sales in august were 13,200 units, with a market share of 7.97%.

as for the eighth and tenth places, they are mexico, south korea and france respectively. the best-selling models are nissan sunny, hyundai sonata and renault clio.
