it is understood that the sixth batch of chinese medical teams to aid barbados will perform national foreign aid medical missions at the queen elizabeth hospital in barbados from september 8, 2023 to september 25, 2024, for a period of 12 months.
according to liu liping, captain of the sixth batch of chinese medical team aiding barbados and chief physician of the ultrasound department of the first affiliated hospital of chongqing medical university, the medical team has implemented 21 types of medical technologies locally, filling many medical technology gaps in the country. the main task of barbados is to provide medical assistance and exchanges in ultrasound, surgery, anesthesia, etc. based on the development needs of local hospital disciplines and patient disease diagnosis and treatment needs, and to pass on domestic advanced experience and technology.”

when leaving, barbados president sandra mason wrote in a personal thank you letter to the medical team: "on behalf of the barbados government and people, i would like to express my sincere gratitude to you."
it is understood that the first batch of medical teams to aid barbados arrived in barbados in december 2016 to perform their mission. as of september 2024, chongqing has sent 7 groups of medical teams to pakistan to perform national health foreign aid tasks.
