the hong kong academy for performing arts held a launch ceremony to celebrate its 40th anniversary on the evening of september 26 in the lobby of the academy. the chief executive of the hong kong special administrative region, mr. lee ka-chiu, sent a congratulatory video to the academy. the ceremony was officiated by mr. yang runxiong, director of the culture, sports and tourism bureau of the hong kong special administrative region, mr. lin zhan, deputy director of the publicity department of the liaison office of the central government in hong kong, mr. yang chuanliang, chairman of the council of the hong kong academy for performing arts, and professor cai manzhi, president of the hong kong academy for performing arts.
mr. lee ka-chiu, chief executive of the hong kong special administrative region, affirmed the academy's contribution to performing arts education in the congratulatory video. he said: "the sar government supports the academy for performing arts to cultivate cultural and artistic talents for hong kong and the country. we believe that the academy for performing arts will set up a new campus in the northern metropolitan area in the future to provide more space for curriculum development. at the same time, we also support the academy for performing arts to increase the proportion of non-local students studying its courses. i firmly believe that these developments can enrich hong kong’s performing arts talent pool in response to the changing needs of the industry.”
