municipal-level elderly learning demonstration schools should have fixed learning places of a certain scale and relatively complete infrastructure, adhere to the public welfare orientation, continuously carry out education and training and learning services for the elderly, and have influence and demonstration in the region. the applicant unit must conduct a self-assessment of its elderly education service capabilities, and both hardware and software must meet the standards. for example, the area of the venue used for elderly learning should not be less than 2,000 square meters in principle, the full-time and part-time teaching staff should be commensurate with the scale of elderly education, academic and non-academic education and training activities for the elderly should be carried out all year round, and the student satisfaction rate should exceed 90%.
according to the standards, demonstration schools should innovate the way of organizing learning, combine classroom learning with various cultural and artistic activities, and civilized practice activities, and carry out various forms of learning activities such as lectures, visits, study tours, performances, and volunteer services; carry out "internet + elderly learning" practices, and explore experiential learning models that combine online and offline learning.
according to the "beijing learning city construction action plan", the city will promote the construction of the elderly education system and the standardization of elderly education institutions. by 2025, it will cultivate 100 elderly learning demonstration schools.
after evaluation and approval, the list of municipal model schools will be announced to the public. each model school will continue to create conditions and introduce various educational resources into the community to facilitate the elderly to participate in learning nearby and conveniently.
