on september 25, the opening ceremony of xichang medical college (hereinafter referred to as xichang medical college) was held. nearly a thousand new students of the first class were full of anticipation and started a new journey in life.
xichang medical college is located in xichang, liangshan, sichuan. it is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the sichuan provincial government, registered by the ministry of education, and organized by the liangshan prefecture government. the school covers an area of 647 acres and has a construction area of 291,000 square meters. the infrastructure construction is divided into two phases. the first phase of construction area of 223,000 square meters has been completed; the second phase of construction is planned to be fully launched within the year.

this year, xichang medical college opened five majors, namely nursing, midwifery, medical imaging technology, medical laboratory technology, and public health management. the average score for the first admission this year was nearly 430 points, with 966 students enrolled in the first batch, with an enrollment rate of 92.8%. from september 7 to 8, the freshmen moved into the brand-new campus one after another. they embraced their dreams and started a new journey in life. so far, the school has 101 teachers, including 59 full-time teachers and 42 "double-qualified" teachers in the affiliated hospital.
"i like this school very much and hope to gain a lot here in the next three years." freshman shen jingqiu is the first student admitted to xichang medical college. she told red star news that she is very much looking forward to studying nursing. "as a liangshan native, i hope to achieve success in my studies and contribute to the construction of my hometown."
