the loro piana 2025 spring/summer collection celebrates the brand's centenary history and heritage, centered around linen, a classic summer fabric that is comfortable, light and casual. as always, fabric plays a central role in loro piana's journey, shaping the concept of classic yet modern, with touch and texture highlighting the way clothing dialogues with the body and life. linen is reinterpreted with loro piana's unique century-old craftsmanship (savoir-faire) and exclusive elegance: blended with classic fibers such as cashmere, silk, and sopra visso wool, combined with casual silhouettes and design details, inspired by the distinctive style of sergio and pier luigi loro piana.

loro piana unveils its spring/summer 2025 collection with an immersive installation at palazzo belgioioso in milan. the journey begins with a space titled “all about linen”, showcasing the precious fiber. the spaces that follow showcase the complete collection. the space is decorated in natural earth tones, with jute finishes on the walls and floors, mixed with wood and printed panels, seamlessly integrating the mood of the season. artist adriana meunié’s work is interspersed throughout the exhibition, exploring linen in its raw and pure form and elevating it to an art form. meunié presents a new way of expressing the infinite potential of linen through craftsmanship and a unique vision. each piece shows how linen moves, transforms and evolves. large tapestries made from raw linen yarn feature soft, organic designs, while other smaller works showcase the many textures and silhouettes of linen, elevating its natural form to a beautiful art form. also on display is the nm110, the finest linen yarn ever made, representing an amazing level of advanced craftsmanship. known for its exceptional fineness, one kilogram of this yarn can stretch to 110 kilometers, demonstrating loro piana's relentless pursuit of technical excellence. nm, or metric count, is the ratio of yarn length to weight. thicker yarns would not stretch as far for the same weight.

loro piana launched a series of themed events on the occasion of milan fashion week. on september 20 and 21, loro piana took over the newsstand on via dei giardini and decorated it with linen bouquets, honey-colored wood and the iconic kummel color. the newsstand was open to the public and gave away the "nuvola di lino" cake specially made for this event. this special soft cake was wrapped in a fine linen fabric and baked by nicola olivieri, a famous italian master baker and pastry chef, whose family has a bakery history in the veneto region for more than 140 years.
