people's daily online, dubai, september 23 (reporter guan kejiang) recently, iraq has entered the school season. according to statistics, there are currently 12 million primary and secondary school students in iraq. due to years of war and turbulent situation, iraq's educational infrastructure is seriously insufficient, and many schools have to adopt shifts and other methods. in recent years, the iraqi government has increased its investment in schools and teaching facilities, and will build 8,000 new demonstration schools by 2030. among them, chinese companies such as china power construction have built the first batch of 1,000 schools, of which more than 600 have been completed and handed over to iraq and put into use one after another. according to the plan, the handover of all schools will be completed by the end of this year.
because these schools built by chinese companies have modern designs, complete functions and excellent quality, the iraqi people affectionately call them "chinese schools."
