public information shows that zhang zulin was born in zhaotong, yunnan in june 1959 and joined the communist party of china in march 1985. after graduating from the department of physics of yunnan university with a major in radio in 1982, he worked in the media for nearly ten years, rising from an ordinary reporter at yunnan tv station to deputy director of the editorial office.
