according to sun shidong, deputy general manager of crrc dalian locomotive and rolling stock co., ltd., the locomotive adopts independent core hybrid control technology, with large-capacity lithium-ion power batteries as the main power source and diesel generator sets as auxiliary charging. the diesel engine running time is shortened from 24 hours a day to 2 hours, and it is expected to achieve a maximum fuel saving of more than 40%.
"through the hybrid power control system, the diesel-generator unit only operates at the optimal economic speed, which not only meets the locomotive traction needs but also achieves the goals of energy saving, emission reduction and noise reduction. compared with old diesel locomotives, it can achieve an 83% reduction in carbon monoxide emissions, a 72.5% reduction in hydrocarbon emissions, and a 45% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions, which can bring considerable economic and ecological benefits to users." said meng he, a designer at crrc dalian locomotive and rolling stock co., ltd.
