an american couple took their pet cat to yellowstone national park, more than 1,400 kilometers away from home, but the kitten got lost. unexpectedly, two months later, the kitten was reunited with its owner with the help of a kind person.

according to cnn on the 21st, in early june this year, susan anguiano and her husband benny, who live in salinas, california, took their 2.5-year-old siamese cat rainbo to yellowstone park in wyoming. on the first day of arrival, the cat ran into the forest because of fear. although the couple searched hard and tried to lure it with its favorite snacks and toys, rainbo never appeared again.

“we eventually had to leave,” susan said. “it made me really sad. it was like we were abandoning it.”

61 days later, the couple received a call from someone claiming to be an animal protection agency. a woman picked up a weak kitten in roseville, california and gave it to them. the staff learned the owner's information by scanning the chip in the cat. the place where the cat was picked up was only about 300 kilometers away from the angiano couple's home, which means that the kitten had traveled more than 1,000 kilometers in some unknown way.

"we are so happy that it can come home," susan said.
