in august, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 964.9 billion kwh, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year. in terms of electricity consumption by industry, the primary industry consumed 14.9 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%; the secondary industry consumed 567.9 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 4.0%; the tertiary industry consumed 190.3 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 191.8 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%.

from january to august, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 6561.9 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%, of which the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 6237.9 billion kwh. in terms of electricity consumption by industry, the primary industry consumed 91.4 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 7.0%; the secondary industry consumed 4200.6 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%; the tertiary industry consumed 1230.1 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 1039.8 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%.
