the 16 locations are the grand canal source ruins park, the ancient tree garden of the geriatric hospital, the summer palace, the zizhuyuan park, the yuyuantan park, the beijing stone carving art museum, the shichahai area, the longtan zhonghu park, the ditan park, the lama temple, the liangma river, the bodhi garden on the tonghui river, the xihaizi park, the huangmuchang village, the ersi ancient ruins in zhangjiawanli, and the dongsizhuang village.
in xihaizi park, where the event was held today, four ancient trees tell the past and present with their unique postures. the most special one is a tower elm located in xihaizi park. this ancient elm tree has miraculously survived on the tongzhou light tower for nearly three hundred years. according to the stone tablet "tower elm record" in front of the ancient elm, this tree originated from the construction of the tower top in the 37th year of emperor kangxi of the qing dynasty. elm seeds fell into the tiles with mud and took root in the thin soil on the top of the tower. when the light tower was repaired in 1987, the tower elm was transplanted to the lakeside.
with the launch of the ancient tree tour route in the grand canal cultural belt, the city has launched 18 ancient tree tour routes with their own characteristics, building a network of ancient tree tour routes of “one axis, three belts and four seasons”.

beijing ancient tree digital museum goes online
the beijing ancient tree digital museum was officially launched today. based on the real topography and geographical distribution of ancient trees in beijing, the museum has built digital exhibition halls of ancient trees in 16 districts of the city. the digital museum integrates information on ancient trees, ecological environment, historical culture and other content. through 3d venue modeling, high-definition image processing, panoramic roaming and other technical forms, everyone can browse the ancient trees in various parts of beijing without leaving home. this is also the first digital museum with the theme of ancient trees in china.
the office of the capital greening committee also released the "beijing ancient trees" applet. the color scheme of the applet incorporates traditional colors such as purple flower cloth, jijin, and luozidai, creating a simple and elegant visual atmosphere. the applet has five functional modules: "popularization of ancient tree science, ancient tree navigation, ancient tree tour line on the palm, ancient tree collection, and feedback". it can provide accurate ancient tree positioning, convenient navigation guidance, and intelligent ancient tree tour line selection, and can also popularize ancient tree knowledge and policies and regulations to the public.
