in january, an indian foreign ministry spokesman said india had not sent or sold ammunition to ukraine. two indian government and two indian defense industry sources said only a small amount of the ammunition used by ukraine was produced in india, with one official estimating that it was less than 1% of the total weapons ukraine had imported since the conflict began.
an indian official said new delhi was watching the situation closely, but he and a senior defense industry executive said india was not taking any action to restrict supplies to europe.
