the transaction adds approximately 1.5 million square feet of property to investcorp’s u.s. industrial real estate portfolio, significantly strengthening its presence in the industrial markets in the southern and western u.s. investcorp’s u.s. industrial real estate portfolio now covers approximately 42 million square feet, including approximately 640 buildings, across several key markets.

the specific acquisition projects include industrial real estate portfolios in core areas of dallas and atlanta; industrial real estate portfolios in core areas of the west coast across denver, las vegas, san diego and the san francisco bay area; and industrial real estate portfolios in the tampa area. the addition of these high-quality assets has undoubtedly added new vitality to investcorp's industrial real estate business.

herb myers, co-head of investcorp's north american real estate business, said: "we remain confident in the industrial asset class, which now accounts for nearly 60% of our real estate assets under management in the united states. while the industry is gradually returning to normal from the peak during the pandemic, this stability is mainly concentrated in new speculative properties. we continue to see strong market performance and attractive investment opportunities in existing core regional assets in high-growth markets. we believe the industrial real estate sector will benefit from positive market trends and continued demand growth in the long term."

investcorp was established in bahrain and has a strong investor lineup, including abu dhabi investment and development company mubadala, which acquired a 20% stake in investcorp in 2016 and became one of its major shareholders. this acquisition once again demonstrates investcorp's determination to seek high-quality assets and expand its business footprint around the world, especially in the us market.
