the 2024 "nature observation festival - animals and plants around me" public science event hosted by the china green foundation was successfully held. the event not only entered 30 communities such as luyuan community in xicheng district, ruixuechuntang community in fangshan district, and vanke qingqing home, but also attracted thousands of community residents and young people to observe leaves, learn about greenery, and get close to nature.

the 2024 "china nature observation festival" event, which covers the whole year, has been launched in fangshan, daxing, haidian, xicheng, shijingshan and other communities in beijing. with the support of vanke foundation, vanke cloud co-development plan and beijing vanke property, 11 communities in beijing vanke launched an invitation initiative, and residents actively responded and participated in this natural exploration activity, and jointly experienced the profound connotation of the interdependence between people and the environment.
the "nature observation festival" takes "animals and plants around me" as its theme, lighting up the light of dreams through public science popularization, helping children to recognize the animals and plants around them, establish a connection with nature, and cultivate children's awareness of loving, observing and protecting nature.
relying on the community green space resources, the activity guides children to carefully observe the often neglected "animal and plant neighbors", and carefully designs outdoor development, popular science explanation, five senses experience, hand-made creation and other links. the natural observer first guides the children to give themselves a "natural name" and establish a connection with nature in terms of the title. then, the natural observer randomly selects different flowers, plants and trees outdoors, and guides the children to describe the taste, touch, sight, smell and other feelings in scientific language through the explanation and interaction of popular science knowledge such as introducing their biological characteristics classification, touching the skin texture of the tree, explaining the bark texture type, collecting plant flower and leaf specimens, etc. in addition, by watching popular science films, making rubbings and hand-made paintings, and cutting and pasting fallen leaves for hand-made creation, the children's memory of animals and plants has been consolidated; the final question-and-answer session has stimulated the children's curiosity to explore the mysteries of nature, deepened their perception and understanding of natural ecology, and planted the seeds of green concepts such as ecological protection and caring for trees in their young hearts. the "nature observation festival" not only improves children's comprehensive abilities such as observation, attention, thinking and hands-on skills, but also cultivates their practical awareness, sense of responsibility and environmental awareness, and conveys the environmental protection concept of creating a friendly ecological community.

in recent years, the "nature observation festival" has successively held a series of large-scale public welfare activities to experience nature, including "visit ningxia and experience the desert ecology", "visit liaoning liaohekou national nature reserve and dance with red-crowned cranes", "visit xishuangbanna and protect ancient tea trees", "visit the northeast tiger and leopard national park and listen to rangers explain the story of the harmonious coexistence of villagers and wild animals", "visit qilian mountain national park and open the biological treasure house", and "visit china foping giant panda national park and breathe with national treasures". these activities have not only won wide acclaim from all walks of life, but also further promoted the popularization of environmentally friendly lifestyles.
