original title: apple faces another class action lawsuit in europe: 30% commission becomes the fuse, accused of "unfair" income of 259 million euros

it home reported on september 19 that the european consumer rights organization euroconsumer is launching a coordinated class action lawsuit in belgium, italy, spain and portugal.accusing apple of being the "mastermind" behind raising subscription fees for music streaming services.

euroconsumer wrote on its lawsuit page:

apple is not playing fair! as a large technology company, apple abuses its market dominance by imposing up to 30% additional fees on non-apple music streaming services such as spotify, deezer, youtube music, soundcloud, amazon music, tidal and qobuz in its app store.

these third-party streaming services have to increase their subscription fees to make up for their lost revenue due to the 30% commission. these price increases have caused users to pay approximately 3 euros (currently approximately 23.7 yuan) more per month for their chosen streaming services.

the group claims that apple has made an "unfair profit" of around €259 million (it home note: currently around rmb 2.045 billion) by overcharging consumers for its non-apple music streaming services in europe alone, and is "working to recover overpaid amounts for more than 500,000 victims in belgium, italy, spain and portugal".
