recently, the national standard "new energy vehicle operation safety performance inspection procedure" (hereinafter referred to as the "procedure") was released and will be officially implemented on march 1, 2025. this standard will become the inspection standard for the annual inspection of new energy vehicles. the "procedure" will not only apply to pure electric vehicles, but also plug-in hybrid (including extended-range) vehicles, and is expected to have an impact on the owners of 24.72 million new energy vehicles across the country.
the biggest change in the new regulations is that the power battery safe charging test and electrical safety test have become mandatory inspection items. at the same time, the safety characteristics of the drive motor, electronic control system and electricity safety will also be inspected.
the latest statistics from the ministry of public security show that by the end of june 2024, the number of new energy vehicles in my country will have reached 24.72 million, accounting for 7.18% of the total number of vehicles. in this context, a "tailor-made" physical examination plan for new energy vehicles will help promote the detection of vehicle hidden dangers and prevent them before they occur.
new changes in the "regulations": battery charging temperature becomes a mandatory inspection item
according to the current annual vehicle inspection standard "motor vehicle safety technical inspection items and methods", the annual inspection of passenger vehicles, including new energy vehicles, mainly includes vehicle appearance, safety devices, chassis and brakes. for traditional fuel vehicles, it is possible to accurately determine whether they can be driven on the road safely; but for new energy vehicles, the three-electric system that affects the core of vehicle safety has not been effectively checked.

according to the new regulations, the safe charging and electrical safety inspections of power batteries for new energy vehicles will become mandatory inspection items. for operating new energy vehicles, the temperature and voltage of the power batteries during charging and discharging will become inspection items.
